I have worked with Reid on both buying a home and selling my home. Reid is incredibly easy to work with, he is very responsive, he is always accommodating to my needs and very patient with the many questions I have had. He is very knowledgable and also works at a pace where he has a sense of urgency about everything. He is reliable, responsive, thorough and gets the job done! He also explains things in layman terms. With so many layers in the process (both buying and selling), it was really easy to understand it all with Reid’s help. Not only is Reid excellent as what he does, he is also a really great person. Normally I do not rate 5 stars in every category, but Reid Kaplan is one of those very few and rare ultimate professionals that deserves this full maximum performance level due to his focus and dedication every minor and major step along the way in this long involved process of my short sale. He navigated every critical step, and there were so many challenges that never appeared to become frustrating to Reid with his positive ability to surmount any challenge along the way no matter what it took being truly inspirational to me. I was so fortunate to choose Reid who had a firm contract on my very small Condo in the matter of less than a few weeks. He handled every facet of this sale and never disbursed some of the sale process to be handled by others overseeing the whole process along the way and never losing site of the details at every critical juncture where a sale could potentially fall apart He even goes beyond the call of duty going to the extent for my sale of generating more than one back-up offer for added insurance that there was always a contingency in place and never resting when all seemed to be well so that he could head off potential pitfalls before they ever could potentially become an issue. He even worked behind the scenes to resolve issues with the Bank’s short sale process and computer program to get it working so that there would be no extended delay in the overall process. I am truly blessed to have Reid as my agent, and it was so worthwhile that I did check his rating which was superb, and I can definitely see why now after the whole process was so painless for me when I was told that these short sales can be a nightmare – Reid with his professionalism and charismatic manner made it a pleasure. Reid helped us through the process of selecting our first condo several years ago, and we recently turned to him again when starting out on the daunting process of buying our first single family home. Through both transactions, Reid was wonderfully helpful and extremely responsive. He is patient, diligent in researching the market, and a great negotiator. I contacted Reid Kaplan about a year ago to show me a property listing of his that I was interested in seeing. I was debating my living options since I was relocating from San Diego. I had worked with several realtors in Los Angeles with varying degrees of success and I found Reid to be very personable, intelligent, and aggressive, so when this condo turned out to be not what I was looking for, I decided I would give Reid the opportunity to be my broker.

During the course of our working together, which was about ten months, I was most impressed by Reid’s professionalism, positivity, strategic thinking, and problem solving ability. The most notable example came when we were in escrow on the house I recently purchased. I had been pre-qualified for a loan and despite our persistent attempts to push the lender to approve the loan quickly in order to close early, they stalled. One day before contingencies were to be removed, the bank still had not approved the loan.

Reid dedicated the better part of a week to the task of verifying all information that the lender required at the eleventh hour. Because my previous employer had merged with another company and could not verify my bonuses, Reid tracked down an employee compensation verification website and paid out of his own pocket for salary reports to provide to my lender. In the end, Reid negotiated an extension with the seller’s agent (not an easy task when the seller had a backup offer higher than my own and were rightfully entitled to cancel our contract without the extension) and the information he provided to the lender proved to be vital in allowing the loan to be approved in the nick of time. I think Reid went above and beyond what I would expect a realtor to do, acted with a sense of urgency, and maintained calm under pressure, which helped keep me stay calm in a very stressful situation.

I feel that I was very lucky to have had Reid Kaplan as my real estate agent. He exhibits a variety of traits, confidence and composure in negotiations, willingness to do more than he is asked, and a generally positive and friendly attitude. I feel very comfortable recommending Reid to a potential client who is interested in buying or selling a home.

Reid was great. He was patient with us as we looked all over Los Angeles for the right place. He represented our interests well, was super helpful in the negotiations, and was always willing to show and give his professional opinion. He had our best interests in mind the whole time.
